Our mission is to promote fairness in healthcare access, support, and information to meet our community’s cultural, linguistic, and economic needs.
In 1997, we committed to removing the obstacles—like lack of insurance, transportation, and misinformation, that prevent families from getting the quality care they deserve while educating individuals to make informed health decisions and achieve optimal health outcomes, no matter their background or circumstances.
We listen to the community and respond with respect and care.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone can pursue a healthy lifestyle with education and navigation from our Promotores and Community Health Workers.
Nuestra misión es promover la equidad en el acceso a la atención médica, el apoyo y la información para satisfacer las necesidades culturales, lingüísticas y económicas de nuestra comunidad.
En 1997, nos comprometimos a eliminar los obstáculos, como la falta de seguro, transporte y desinformación, que impiden que las familias reciban la calidad de atención que merecen, mientras educamos a las personas para que tomen decisiones informadas y logren resultados óptimos de salud, sin importar su origen o circunstancias.
Escuchamos a la comunidad y respondemos con respeto y cuidado. Nuestro objetivo es garantizar que todos puedan seguir un estilo de vida saludable con educación y orientación de nuestros Promotores y Trabajadores de Salud Comunitarios.
Founder/Fundadora
Appointed to NCI’s first Director’s Consumer Liaison Group in 1997, & invited to present at a Congressional Panel for the recognition of the term “Latino” as a proper category term for the new population from Latin America, which initiated over 30 years of advocacy work for cancer and women’s rights. Nationally, she served on many national boards, including the Blue Ribbon Panel of the NCI Health Disparities Progress Review Group in Washington, DC/chairing the Trans HHS Cultural Competence in Education & Training Roundtable. Venus retired as an instructor at Baylor College of Medicine and has dedicated her life’s mission to education and training of Promotores/Community Health Workers nationwide, in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Fue nombrada miembro del primer Grupo de Enlace bajo la Dirección del NCI en 1997 e invitada a participar en un panel del Congreso para reconocer el término “latino” como categoría apropiada para la nueva población latinoamericana. Esto dio inicio a más de 30 años de trabajo en abogacía del cáncer y de los derechos de la mujer latina. A nivel nacional, formó parte de numerosas juntas directivas, incluyendo el Panel del Grupo de Revisión del Progreso de las Disparidades en la Salud del NCI en Washington, D.C., donde presidió la Mesa Redonda sobre Competencia Cultural en Educación y Capacitación del HHS. Venus se jubiló como instructora en el Baylor College of Medicine y ha dedicado su vida a la educación y capacitación de Promotores en todo el país, en Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y México.

Our Telehealth Community Navigation Contact Center meets the needs of underserved communities through virtual support—via phone, text, email, or social media. We build comprehensive health assessment profiles, connecting individuals to resources addressing social health and medical care determinants. Timely follow-ups ensure no care gaps are left unaddressed, making virtual navigation a lifeline for our vulnerable populations.
